About Sunscreens and Your Tattoos
Protect your tattoo from the sun

Summer in Poznań, though rare, does appear. The sun heats up properly between warning SMS messages from ALERT RCB, so we are obligated to take care of our tattoos, and by the way, all skin. We often forget to buy sunscreen and think: 'I'll buy it tomorrow, and in the evening I'll read about how to choose it'. And that's how the whole summer passes :)

For skin not to age and tattoos to maintain their intensity, proper care and protection are necessary.
Sunscreen
Should be chosen according to your skin type (dry, oily, normal, combination) and phototype (there are 6). First phototype is the lightest skin. Sixth — the darkest.
Choosing cream is simple. We follow the SPF (Sun Protection Factor) indicator. For example: SPF15, SPF30, SPF50. The higher the number next to this abbreviation, the better the protection. The lighter your skin, the higher SPF you'll need. If you have very light skin that burns easily, SPF 50 is the best choice. If you have darker skin that never burns, SPF 15 is enough.

Cream must be applied every 2 hours or after swimming, otherwise protection won't be effective. This applies to skin in general. If you want to maintain tattoo intensity, choose SPF 50 protection specifically for them.
Currently in stores, various forms are available — creams, lotions, fluids, oils, sprays, and even sticks! They have various additional functions added: anti-aging, anti-sand (so sand doesn't stick to skin on the beach), mattifying (for oily skin), tanning accelerators (to protect skin but also get some sun). The choice is yours!
Sometimes such products can even be bought in tattoo studios. They usually offer the highest possible SPF. People with dark skin often make a mistake. Their phototype creates an illusion of safety because they don't get burns. They think sun rays don't harm them. That's not true.

Harmful UV rays can cause irreversible changes, including skin cancer, regardless of phototype.
Therefore, even people with dark skin should protect themselves from the sun. Take care of yourself and your tattoos, friends! Be beautiful and healthy :)
